NEWSLETTER FOR FEBRUARY 2012
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Every year, as we ring in the new-year, bid the holidays adieu, and resolve to make massive lifestyle changes, the Sunnyvale Cupertino Bar Association welcomes in a new President. I am honored and excited to take on this position for 2012, and hope I can impart my enthusiasm on to our members—old and new. This promises to be a big year for all of us—we will elect a new U.S. president (or re-elect an old one), and possibly see the end of the world if the doomsday prophecies have any merit!
In light of these possibilities, as your president, my fellow board members and I will do our best to make this year unforgettable. We will again have our annual Social event in May or June, and hope to see you all for dinner, drinks, good company, and fun. With Jeff Wooten at the head of our MCLE presentations, we are bound for exciting lunchtime learning every month. The Board will also be considering new ways to increase our membership, and enrich our networking possibilities.
As always, if you have any suggestions or requests for MCLE presentations, or would like to present an MCLE topic to our membership, please feel free to contact our Vice President, or Linda Dahl, with your ideas. If you have any suggestions on a location you would like us to try for our Social event, please feel free to contact me. Finally, if you have any general suggestions for improvement of our association, the Board’s ears are always open.
In an effort to avoid my reputation for being overly verbose, I will sign off my first President’s message a little early with a simple thank you! Hope to see you all at our MCLE Luncheon on February 13, 2012, for an interesting discussion with Michael Glenn on “Identifying and Prosecuting Patentable Inventions for Clients.”
